When I have a recording start on one of my cards, the light goes on for a second then goes off again, is there any reason for this?

Cheers

are you using only this feature or others (e.g. check if GBPVR frontend is running) as well? do you experience the same problems with these features as well?

another question: are you running WinXP? IIRC, i read somewhere that on WinXP in some cases there _might_ be a setting that 'sets' back the parallel port every X seconds.

you also may add this line
echo %1 %2 >> c:\paraled.log

to your updaterecordstatus.bat file and send me the log.

greets

betlit Wrote:the warning feature does not work as you expect it to ;) it's just a timer you set (in this case after 25920 seconds) to let one/some/all LEDs blink.

the epg-tag is just a 'name' you give the warning (the name is needed to identify the warning timer when calling paraled.exe <warning-name> to _prevent_ the warning to trigger).

when a timer expires, the LEDs specified in <warningled></warningled> will blink.

Ah, ok!
It will work...start blinking, but it dont work to turn it off!
I send by command line and batch file "paraled.exe epg"
My XML entry

<warnings>
<epg>2</epg>
</warnings>

And a other thing: The firstled for gbpvr will go off, when the warning led blink! Is this normal ?
my other problem:
I can not set manually with "manualcall:diode3:on"
Only if i set more then one led to on or off, it will be work...like this:
"ParaLED.exe manualcall:diode3:on;diode4:on;diode5:on"
but this will take no effect to the first and second led and on the blinking led

I was wondering, i have one led connect to pin D3 (5) the diode4 is set to this warning led (decimal 8) blinking work, but to set up manually on, i must type "paraled manualcall:diode3:on;diode4:off"

Now i tested without the warning entry.
I i want to set the led 3 on i must type: "paraled manualcall:diode1:off;diode2:on;diode3:off"
It only works when led2 is set to on,AND i used the other led switches...
I have set my parallel port to "normal" and "bi-direktional"...is there anything wrong with my parallel port ???

Ok i found a small program:
http://www.s-westerhold.com/lichtorgel/lichtorgel.php

It works fine !
There is no problem with my parallel port !
It used the same inpout32.dll

So what is the problem of paraled.exe ???

Can you try putting that command back in with
"manualcall:diode3:on;"

I found if I didn't put the semicolon after the command nothing worked - maybe thats why your other command works for diode3 ("paraled manualcall:diode3:on;diode4:off") - it's picking up the diode3 on, and not worrying about the diode4 off.

(maybe this is what is happening)

Cool !
I wondering by myself that i don´t test this (or i do i ???)
On my normal PC it works with the ";" at the end !
Now i have to test this on my GBPVR Notebook !

But one thing don´t work !
I can not disable an warning (see post over you)
I set the time for <epg> to 5 minutes, and the warning led to 255. (i only connect 1 led this time, but so i am sure i connect a blinking led :-)

<warnings>
<epg>5</epg>
</warnings>
<warningled>255</warningled>

After 5mins the led will start blinking...this is ok.
But i don´t can switch it off again:
"paraled.exe epg" do nothing!
"paraled.exe -epg" will stop the blinking for 1 second then it starts again !
I have test this in an command window and in batch files :-(

Ok, it works also on my Notebook...but not the warning option.

I have one question to this:
paraled will start a timer...set in the XML file.
What´s when i turn off my computer or go to standby ?
Will the timer reset to "0" ?

When the timer will reset, i don´t need the warning option, my computer is only on when i want to look an record or i do an record.

Sorry, didn't see your reply!

Yeah, I have no issues with the capture source lights, except for whatever is in position 0. gbpvr light works fine, as do the manual ones.

I've attached my file. I played around last night, and confirmed that whatever source was selected as 0 - the light pops on for a few secs and then turns off. Using Xp pro.

errmm... if i recall correctly, the number inside the warning tag is not "minutes", but "seconds" until the warning goes of...

if the computer is sent to standby or hibernation, the timers should prevent their current state/contdown.

ok... let's check some more... here you can get a little utility i wrote. make sure paraLED is _NOT_ running and just play a little with the blue LEDs in the applications window (by clicking on them you can switch them off and on).
let's check if LED 0 will stay on or shut off after a few secs (just to ensure if there is something wrong with paraLED).

All of the leds worked fine, and then after I quite the app a recording started and the light stayed on - odd, but good. I'll keep an eye on it over the next week or so.

Thanks
