I am dabbling with making a new skin. I am trying to format the date display to read 'March 29' instead of what I have now which is 'Wednesday, March 29, 2006' . Can someone tell me what controls the way the date string is formatted?

@date will resolve to your system short date format, which you can change in the control panel.

Thanks for the reply. I found it in Regional and Language Options.

So I guess there is no way to ensure that the date is displayed the same on any two given systems other than making sure that the settings under CP are the same? Is there any way to manipulate the text within XML or would it involve a plugin of some sort to get the date formatted the same way on all machines?

Correct.

Its not possible at this stage. It would require changes to the application.

The video archive panel also has a lot of flexibility on ate formatting, both within the xml of the smin and within the configuration of the plug-in.
