changing channels on external tuner without a remote?

Is this possible? I have everything set up and have my tuner hooked up to my satellite box via coax. My guide shows all the channels correctly, but if I click +/- to change the channel, it still stays on whatever channel my box is set at. Is there a way to change the channel on the box without use of a remote?

To control an external satellite box, you'll need an IR Blaster like the USB-UIRT or an MCE IR Blaster.
