I have a PVR 350. I'm using two sources. The first is basic cable straight into the rf input. Channels on basic are 1-100. I used the EPG to load the channels and then I disabled all the channels above 100.

My secound source is the digital cable box into the SVideo of the 350. I used the EPG to load the channels and then disabled the channels from 1 - 100.

The reason I have it set up this way is the 350 tuner will not receive premium channels so all I should need to do to schedule a recording on a premium channel is set the record on the channel using the program guide as normal, and also set to record using the program guide on the cable box.

I believe the way this should work is if I select a channel below 101 GBPVR should use the basic cable source and tune to the selected channel. If I select a channel above 100, say HBO 241, then gbpvr should select the digital cable box source which is S-Video. Then I would need to use the cable box remote if I want to change channels.

Problem: If I am on channel 5 and press channel 241 it stays on 5. If I press 255 it will switch to SVideo. It seems it does not recognize all availabe channels above 100 as valid channels. I've varified that the channels are enabled. On a few instances when it's been able to switch channels, I was still receiving audio from the previous channel. This only happens when I change channels that cause it to change sources.

Is there something else I should check on my configuration?

It sounds like you're doing pretty much the right thing.

Channels 254 and are above are a special case for compatibility with WinTVCap. I'll need to make sure these can be used without problem with DirectRecording source, but it should be Ok. For any tests to help me identify the problem, you'll probably want to stay below channel 250.

If you start LiveTV then use the mini-guide (green button), can you browse to channel over 100 and press enter? What happens?

You might want to try this:
1/ start gbpvr
2/ LiveTV
3/ watch tv for 20 seconds
4/ green button
5/ press 110 (or other), then press enter twice.
6/ not down what happens, and email me the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log from \windows\system32.

I sent you the text file.

It started out on channel 1. 110 is not available so I used 149. It changed from 1 to 4. It would not change channels unless I chose under 101 or 255 (for some reason, which it will switch to S Video).

Can you zip and email your gbpvr.mdb file to me at support@devnz.com?

Will do.

I played with it a lttle more. Channels up to 253 give me channel 4 video.

254 and 255 give me SVideo.

Channels above 255 give me channel 4 video from the internal tuner and audio in from the external SVideo source.

Good news. I've found the problem and corrected it for the next release. Thanks for emailing the files.
