Are you running the latest version of gbpvr? I think it's supposed to run at low prio when you do automatic conversion. Are you running a manual conversion? You do know you can change the prio with the task manager (I know, that might not be very convenient).
I'm not always right

I'm still on the previous version and it's a manual conversion. I only want to convert the programs my wife likes to watch when she's on the train.

I've been altering the priority from Task Manager but it is a little inconvenient.

Is there a batch file that gets called to run ffmpeg? If there is, then you could add the following for that step:

cd\
C:
cd "Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\FFmpeg"
start /low /wait ffmpeg <etc...>

This would start ffmpeg in low priority mode and also wait to complete that step before moving on in the batch file.

No it's in config.xml, but you can't add the start /low etc. Pity

i made a little add-on that can...it substitutes ffmpeg for a command processor that can in turn run ffmpeg with any batch options you wish..Smile
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=13870
i've been using for some months now so seems to be stable..several profiles included but you can edit the main batch with any encoder/options you wish..
it allows the use of ffmpeg from the transcode menus from within gbpvr..
and now dvd burning with menus too Smile
let me know if you need any help setting it up..i need to make an installer..

Hi pBS,

I can't get either of the Zipfiles to download and the wholethread is a bit difficult to follow. Could you just add some simple instructions here plus a download that works?

Thanks

What kind of ffmpeg process priority support is there for GB-PVR v1.3.11? I need to force ffmpeg into a priority higher than normal when trancoding for the MVP.

Thanks.
