sub, stattik, et al,

I performed an upgrade from 96.12 to 97.07 recently.
Regular ATSC recordings appear to be fine for 480i(p) and 720, but the 1080i recordings are failing. Here are some of the things that are happening:

1) Records a show, but the show either has a LOT of skipped or badly recorded areas (like a bad signal even though signal strength is strong and stable) or it plays and then stops. Can't FF or RW. Even using other players (WMP, VLC, etc.).
2) Starts to record and stops even though the GBPVR recording status show it is still recording. The recording doesn't stop. I have to stop it manually. The file is either 0 byte or less than a 500 MB.

The only thing (here it comes) changed it the upgrade to 97.07.
I did have a NativeUtilities.dll patch file from sub that addressed a MUX selection issue I had. Attempting to reapply that file/patch didn't work in an attempt to address this new issue. I have set it back to the original 97.07 file.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!
Greg

To be honest, in this case it sound like you're have either reception or playback problems. 480ip/720p/1080i are all pretty much the same from GB-PVR's perspective - it just writes the data coming of the mux to disk. It does know anything about what is in that data, including its resolution.

If you're experiencing glitches in signal, then playing back these files is going to be very messy, more so with 1080i than the other resolutions.

This sounds like reception problems again.
