Just picked up my second MVP. My first was a Rev D3AM, this new one is Rev H2.

I have been using 0.97.7 for a little over a week with the D3AM unit, but I can't get the new H2 unit to work (could roll back to v0.96.12, but would rather not).

With the H2 unit all is fine and good with GBPVR set to 0 servers and using just the Hauppauge services. When I stop the Hauppauge services and set the servers to 2 (or 1 for that matter), the H2 unit shows the boot screen, jumps to 3 bars (out of 5), then 4, and stays there. For the curious, the H2 unit shows "v2.4" on the boot screen were the D3AM shows "v1.0".

The only change I made to GBPVR was to increase the servers to auto start from 1 to 2. Maybe I'm being a dork and missing something obvious, or maybe there's and issue with H2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an H2 as well.

You need a newer version of the dongle.bin file. You can use the version on the CD that came with your MediaMVP. It's version 3.0.24088.

Thanks for the tip. With the new dongle.bin, it boots past the first screen, finds the network, connects to the server, but then locks up on "loading application" Usually goes about 3 cycles through the status bar, then freezes. After a short period, it resets and starts over finding the network. It would appear that it would do this indefinitely until you remove power.

Any other thoughts?

The later versioned dongle did the trick for me. Sorry.

Did you power cycle the MVP?

For completeness, try restarting the recording service and kill the running GBPVR.exe process.

Have you let it go through the second boot process?

Mine did this as well (using the 3.2 dongle) on the first boot, then reset and loads fine. I might guess that it's updating some flash ROM or something but I really don't know any better. It ALWAYS does this when the power is removed from the MVP for a period of time.

I let the MVP go for about 15 minutes, must have done at least a half-dozen lockup-reboot cycles. Cycled power on the MVP a couple times. Rebooted my server PC. Cycled power on the MVP a couple more times - no joy.

I think I will try a clean install of GBPVR.

Any other suggestions?

I have been reading these, but I'm a bit bogged down with other things at the moment.

Understood. It's starting to feel more like Spring here (in MN, USA) so inside (and computer stuff) tends to get bumped for other things. Thanks for posting. GBPVR rocks!!!

UnPlugged MVPs many times
rebooted many times
reinstalled gb '97.7'
Re-Register Filters
ReInstalled .net 1.1 & 2
Dongles
dongle.bin = connects fine - black screen on videos no sound
gbpvr.bin = might connect after 20-30 lock up and reboots will play video then very well might crash
3.0.24088.DONGLE.BIN = connects fine - black screen on videos no sound
3.2.24110b.DONGLE.BIN = connects fine - black screen on videos no sound
I'm running win2k pro sp4

not sure if any of this will help or not, I miss my mvps.....
