My set up is a bit different than most as I have both DirecTV and Cable Television inputs on one of PVR150's (Capture Device #1 (DirectTV via composite in/Cable via tuner in)) and cable only on my second PVR150 (Capture Device #2). I'm noticing that I am getting scheduling conflicts when trying to record something on DirecTV at the same time a cable program is scheduled to record.

I can only assume that this is occurring because the scheduler is grabbing the first capture device to record the cable program, but by doing this, it prevents the DirecTV program from being recorded as the DirecTV is only available on the first capture device. Am I on target with this assumption? Is there a remedy for this behavior? Can I change the order of the Capture Device numbering without any ill effects?

Thanks!

Yes, this is a known issue that can occur with multiple capture sources with different channel linues. This problem has been there since I first created GB-PVR. I do intend to improve this scheduling logic one day.

Understood. Will changing the device numbering do any good? Will it allow the cable only card to be assigned to the cable program thus freeing the multiple capture source card to record the program on DirecTV?

Usually GB-PVR will choose which capture source to use by working its way down the list shown in the config app, looking for a capture sources that has the required channel, and is available at the required time.

If you place the capture source with the least number of available channels at the top of this list, then it reduces the chances of seeing this problem.

I tried changing the numbering of the devices and it still didn't work.

I really like the idea of being able to use multiple sources on a single tuner. In fact, it is this feature that brought me to GBPvr rather Meedio (boy did that ever work out for me!)

Is the fix pretty complicated?

Yes - otherwise I would have done it by now.
