I am just about to splash out on a WinTV-PVR-350 PCI card; i intend to attach the device directly to my sky + box using cable S-Video and audio line in. I am not interested in being able to access the TV guide on my PC or schedule TV recordings. Instead, i just want to be able to get the picture (and sound) that would appear on my TV on my PC screen (obviously using gbpvr) and manually start and finish recording. So my question is: does gbpvr support this or do you always have to schedule a recording?

The reason i'm interested in this setup is simply that i have a few select files on my sky HDD that i would like to record to mpeg then re-encode (at a later date) to xvid.

Thanks in advance,

if you want the ability to stay current with gbpvr .. I would get the 150 instead... I have a 350.. and it was useless especially since it didnt even come with the IRBlaster..

just my 2 cents..

Like SniperDude said, do not get the 350, get the 150 and save some $$

TBH: for what you want to do, you may be better of using the wintv2000 app that is supplied with the card.
