I was recording 'Farscape' today from 2:00 to 3:00. The file stopped growing early on in the recording, as the file is roughly 17MB, all commerical break before the show started.

No errors appear in the Event Viewer during this time. It's likely that I was poking around in the web admin at the time.

System status showed the program was still being recorded at 4:08 when I had to reboot the system.

As far as the logs are concerned, it looks like it successfully recorded from 13:58 - 15:03. I'm guessing there was a brief glitch in the signal and the Cyberlink mux shit itself. We've seen this a few times in the past with ATSC transmissions. The Microsoft DVR-MS mux seems more tolerant of these sorts of problems, so probably worth trying that as an alternative.

I've reinstalled the OS three times now and the DVR-MS files do not get bigger than 5.5k, and I often get two of them. I've installed on WinXP and Win2k3 with DVR-MS filter manually installed. No luck on this. I know the 5.5k or 6k file problem has been reported before, but am not aware of anything that has fixed it in particular. Only once before, under 96.x have I been able to get it to work, and that require that no other mux be installed.

I have not tried the Intervideo mux again, which I had working on my 96.12 box.

Ok, thats already the newest one that I'm aware of. I was going to suggest switching to that versions. Sorry I dont have any other ideas for you.

I dont know. You could try setting <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord> to false in config.xml - it might help.

I set it to 'false' and I seem to be generating dvr-ms files now. Thanks! I'll see where this leads me, and I hope it helps a few others too.

Sub,

Not sure why, but my dvr-ms files seem to grow in 97,798 kb chunks. I am still getting some failed recordings with a pair of 6k remnants. I am wondering if GBPVR is not waiting long enough for the initial file to appear. Anything else I can tweak?
