Hello I bought an AfaTech AF9005 BDA Device off eBay UK (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...%3AIT&rd=1) I was wondering how I get this to work with the GB-PVR because it is not in any of the drop down device lists.

Any help please?

Thanks.

If its got BDA drivers you should be able to get it to work, but you'll need to add section to the bda.ini file with the appropriate settings for your device. You can check for the appropriate names with GraphEdit.exe (google for it).

This is my no fail means of establising bda pin names for a unknown bda compliant card.

Unzip this application and run the exe, select the desired tuner and capture devices from the popups. Note the BDACapture and BDATuner names created in the settings.ini file. Create a new card defination on GBPVR's bda.ini file.

Thanks to digitalwatch's author Nat and company and forums.dvbowners.com.

i am having the same problem with my tuner, i only got it a few days ago and im new to the whole dvb-t and gb-pvr world!

ihave tried adding a new device to the bda.ini, but it doesnt come up on the drop down menu. it also seems that the devices in the bda.ini do not match up with the ones in the menu.

many thanks

Thats incorrect. The names shown in the config app are extracted from the bda.ini file, so will match.

The tuning assistant is only for analog cards, so not relevent for your digital card.

You need to add a capture source, configure it to use the BDA Recording Plugin, then select your card.

Hi Lee

I've got the same USB tuner. The settings you need to add to the end of BDA.INI are at the end of this message.

Although the AF9005 finds channels when scanning with the supplied BlazeDTV software, it seems to have trouble identifying them and sometimes a found channel appears to have no signal. I have three other freeview devices which do not have this problem and I added an aerial amp. to improve the system without success. This could be a driver problem (I going to look for updated drivers this week).

Warning : Use the 'All Region' for country and 'All Channels' for region/transmitter. Using 'Southern England' and 'Crystal Palace' caused my system to Blue screen! This seems to be because the channels frequencies are -166Khz I believe it should by +166Khz for UK.

On GBPVR it does not seem to find any channels on my system - It once found one channel, but that was it!.

Please let me know how you get on

Sean
