I have both BTV and GB-PVR loaded on my computer. If I exit the GB-PVR program and reboot, the Recording Service always starts. Where do you turn this off so it doesn't restart? I unchecked the service in msconfig but it is still starting.

In GBPVR config on the MVP tab, "number of servers to auto start".

He asked about the recording service, you are talking about MVP servers that the gui starts, different things.

Right click on "My Computer" and pick manage, Then pick services and find the gbpvrrecording service. Change it to manual and it will not automatically start with each reboot. This means it will not be able to record if you reboot unless you start it manually.

PS. what you unchecked in msconfig was the tray app, not the service that runs everything.
