I am trying to setup a Hauppauge Nova-SE2 (not listed in the hw list) - it is detected by the config util as a Hauppauge Nova-S-Plus.

However when I click on "Map digital channels to EPG channes" it says "SCANNING 1 of 74 (Strength:0 Quality: 0)" and finds no channels.

The card works however when used with the Hauppauge TV app.

Config: Astra 1B, 1C...
lnb lof1: 9750
lnb switch: 11700
lnb lof2: 10600
powered

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks!

Can you reproduce the problem then post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log?

I started config, clicked on "map digital ch. to epg ch." and exited when it said "no channels found". The logs are in the zip attached to this message.

Thanks!

Its MediaPortal getting in the way. We've been seeing this alot recently. From the next release I will be purposefully 'knobbling' MediaPortal when GB-PVR is started to make sure it stops interferring with things.

It makes me feel good to know that I gave up on Media Portal after installation and actually seeing the app. GB-PVR blows it out of the water, not to mention the amount of support available here in the forums!

OK, I've ghosted the system back to before I installed MediaPortal (fresh install of XP, SP2 + all updates, only the latest Hauppauge Drivers and Oxyl Box is installed).

Config now finds channels! Yeah! Smile

Unfortunately it crashes a few minutes into the scan Sad
(I've attached the logs again)

Curiously it displays the signal strenght as <0, eg. -3399 ...?

Is it a misconfiguration on my part?

Thats not something to worry about. Annoyingly, all the hardware manufacturers use different scales and values for the signal strength and quality. Some use 0 through -10000, which looks like you're probably seeing.

I'm guessing it doesnt like something in the transport stream. I'm not sure what though. Does it alway seem to be scanning T:11097,V,22000,56 when it crashes?

No, it looks like it crashes randomly (I tried it a few times).

This might be a coincidence but after I installed the Hauppauge SW (for the MPEG decoder) I can no longer connect to the BDA device in config. It says "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured..." - (I've attached the log from that too).

However if I then delete the device and add a new one, it can connect and scan...? When I exit and try again I get the same error as before ... really strange!

I really appreciate your help!
Thanks!

After reading through a few other posts I changed the muxer to cyberlink and now the "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured..." error is gone.

Unfortunately it still crashes when scanning. Sad

But I got a different error this time (not a crash but an System.AccessViolationException) - I've attached the full message.

I've added the part of the channels it found and tested the live-tv function. I works! Smile But when I exit I get this error (also see log):

07/07/2006 07:26:03.484 ERROR [1] Error: msg=0x201 (WM_LBUTTONDOWN) hwnd=0xb0366 wparam=0x1 lparam=0x16e01c4 result=0x0 : System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
