Hi,

I recently setup the enhanced webadmin to work over the internet. Using the remote URL (http://domain.com:port/gbpvr/login.aspx) the page loads fine, but it doesnt accept my name/password.

If I try the same link (or even the localhost version) from within my network, it accepts the passwords fine.

I've even temporarily disabled my firewall on the local machine to see if there's anything inadvertantly blocked, but no joy.

Anyone seen this before?
Thanks,

- Martin

  • Do you have a static IP, or dynamic? (were you able to register 'Domain.com' ? -- just kidding)

  • Try the IP instead of the domain name... for kicks.

  • Are you using a router? You'll have to port forward your port ie 7647 on 192.168.0.100

  • Open ports on Firewall too...

  • Lastly, press CTRL + F5 to force a full page redownload... (That one caught me several times)

Thanks for the reply...

// Do you have a static IP, or dynamic? (were you able to

It's static. I also own domain.com because I invented the internet ;-p

// Try the IP instead of the domain name... for kicks.

Tried that, no joy.

// Are you using a router? You'll have to port forward
// your port ie 7647 on 192.168.0.100

Yeah, linksys router, for my sins. The port forwarding stuff is all setup - I get the login page fine, too. I changed the port to 6666 to see if it 'applied' the change, which it did fine - but still no luck with the authentication/password. Very odd!

// Lastly, press CTRL + F5 to force a full page redownload...
// (That one caught me several times)

Good thought. Didnt work, tho.
Thanks,

Oh yeah, and how about getting the latest Webadmin download, deleting/backing up the 'web' folder in gbpbr and then installing the newest?

If this doesn't work, I'll leave this to more capable hands...

Thx. I grabbed the latest version (and I'd already installed GBPVR09713 last night, in an attempt to cure the problem) - both didnt work, nor did adding my (external/work) IP to the range in the config.... but thanks for taking the time to throw some suggestions my way!

This is not the solution, but can you test out the autologin from this thread to see if you can access to the web-admin.
