Show Search is an alternative to the stock GBPVR EPG search plug-in. Show Search is oriented around the use of the remote control, although the keyboard can be used as well. The search can also be restricted to just movies, episodes, or sports shows.
Both SQLite and Access are supported, although the UI response with Access is fairly sluggish. If you are using Access, have entered keys and nothing seems to be happening, just sit back and wait 30 seconds or so. With SQLite the display response to key presses seems more real-time.

Show names are input using the remote control or keyboard. On the remote, you type 2 for A, B, or C, you type 3 for D, E, or F and so on.
The yellow key can be used to narrow or widen the search scope.
The red key can be used to change the field that is searched (the name or the description)
The green key is used to change the search mode. It can be either (i) any word starts with the search string, (ii) the search field starts with the search string, or (iii) the search string is embedded anywhere in the search field.
The blue key is used to toggle between search mode and a display of upcoming recordings.
Shows that match the search criteria are listed on the left; individual episodes that are listed on the right. Episodes that have already been recorded (as indicated in the video archive plug-in database) will have a symbol next to them to indicate this. In the default skin it is a red circle with a D in it (for duplicate). Episodes that are already scheduled to be recorded will have a symbol next to them to indicate this. In the default skin it is a blue circle with a S in it (for scheduled). This look in skinable in the List View skin.xml file.
Pressing the play key will switch to live TV if the selected show is currently available to be watched.
Note that to exit the plug-in you cannot not press the back button; that just clears the search string. To exit press the MENU button.
