Here's the problem. Sometimes on playback, something happens and I end up back in the main menu.

I then have to patiently wait while I restart the show and fast forward through 1-2 hours of stuff I've already seen.

I'm sure I saw somewhere that you could press '5' to jump to the 50% point in a show, '7' to jump to the 70% point, etc. But, for the life of me, I can't get it to work.

1) Is there a way to do this sort of thing on the MVP? If so, what setup parameters do I need to change (if any)?

2) sub, have you considered modifying the functionality of the Play key on the MVP? Perhaps make it so that when pressed repeatedly, it skips to the end of the next commercial break, even if you're in the middle of a non-commercial segment. That way, you could quickly navigate back to the point of the show where you left off.

(I much prefer the fast forward/rewind mode to the skip forward/skip back mode and would like to retain this behaviour if possible).

Thoughts?

Thanks!

In gbpvr you enter the amount of minutes you want to skip + >| (skip) e.g. : 22 >| skips 22 mins.

Do what HtV suggests. You can instantly jump to anywhere in the file.

For some reason this doesn't work.

It just goes into fast-forward mode... Is this behaviour dependent on some GB-Config settings?

???

Are you sure you're hitting the 'skip' button, not the fast forward button?

Well, I tried both buttons--the fast-forward, and the skip.

When I entered a 2-digit number and pressed Skip, it just ignored it--did nothing.

When I entered a 2-digit number and pressed FF, it went into FF mode.

Should it matter whether I have "Use short skip instead of FF/REW" selected??

When you press the blue key on your remote, what does it show the duration as?

You cant prefix numbers on the FF key. It'll just FF.

That only affects the fast forward button. When enabled, each time you press the FF button it jumps forward 10 seconds.

What type of file are you trying to play? An MPEG file or an AVI file?

Note. This only works in a continues timestamp capture source for mpeg. You probably have to fix the timestamp issue first for it to work properly.
