I think the program searching as it is, is fine but not very refined.

It could use first a on screen alphabet and number pad for easy searching with a remote.

Also it would be great to have tv genre filters like sports, action, drama etc.

I wish we could enter a search string. i.e. If I want to search for "Lost" it kind of sucks to enter an "L" and then scroll down to Lost. I have tried to search on "L" and then press "O" and it skips to shows that start with "O".

Perhaps its me, and I don't know how to use it. Perhaps its my remote (ATI Remote Wonder) that won't let me. I even checked the "Use number pad like keyboard" or whatever it says on the "Misc." tab of config. Smile

I don't use it but, the built-in Search Guide does have a search string entry box where you can enter multiple characters, i.e. "Lost", then press OK (or ENTER).

You could try the show search plug-in at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/ShowSearch. It lets you type strings in on the remote and lets you restrict the search to movies, episodes, or sports, if this information is provided by your EPG.
