A fairly simple request (I think!) in uk some channels are not 24hr so when not available can n/a or sometihing similar appear in EPG?

Thanks

Yes have had that too when scanning freeview in uk! My Hardware pvr Thomson 4000 detects all channels whether they're on air or not! (Not criticism sub just a comment!)

Thanks

We dont have any channels here in New Zealand that do the same thing, so its not something I cant test here. I did try something in the last release that I thought may do it, but obviously not.

Mhm... you could combine this with the EPG, or not? As an example: Some station within germany has then an entry like "Sendeschluß".
So that you, so my thinking, just need a "wordbook" with keywords for doing what is requested. How about this idea?

I'm not really interested in having some N/A entry or similar. I'm quite happy with the guide just being blank at those times - like it is currently, but I would like to be able to detect those channels during the channel scan.

We have here in germany some stations, which split one place and we have some stations with non-24h sending.

So... some EPG-Services, like TV-Movie, send for those Channels one Entry the info "Sendeschluss".
Something like this on Eurosport: http://www.tv-movie.de/Detailansicht_TV-...il=6655754

So..., within the .xml i am sure, you'll find this one too "Sendeschluss" *check*, yeah i was right:
Sendeschluss @ tvdata.xml Wrote:<programme start="20060813210000 +0200" stop="20060814060000 +0200" channel="Ki.Ka">
<title lang="de">Sendeschluss</title>
<desc lang="de">
Jahr:
Genre: Sendeschluss
Kategorie: Sendeschluß</desc>
</programme>

You see? If you had a kind of wordfilter, you could use it perhaps to temporarily blend out offline stations.

Ah, I see what you're asking for, but I think this is a bit too rare to build in custom logic for. I think this sort of thing probably better done source XMLTV grabber utility.

I think there are some XMLTV utilities that provide functions like show filtering. If your XMLTV grabber doesnt give you this ability, you might be able to look into something like this.

The original poster was asking for the exact opposite though. He wanted to have a N/A listing when the channel was offline. You want to get rid of the listing.

Mhm, not really ^^ For me personally i am not disturbed by the entries within the EPG.
Ah, sorry. I totally misunderstood the main question. I thought he requested an option to "hide" channels within LiveTV Mode, if they're offline. I am sorry, sub.
