My System:
2 Speakers (through an amp)

Configured under GBPVR
DVD navigator: Cyberlink DVD Navigator (PDVD 6)
DVD video: Cyberlink /SP Decoder
DVD AUdio: Cyberlink Audio Decoder
DVD Renderer: Cyberlink Audio Renderer (PDVD 6)

My problem:
The music is loud and the voices are low.

I've configured and reconfigured and can't seem to fix it. It sounds fine when running dvd's under cyberlink's dvd software.

If anything, i'd like to just boost up the voices and mute the sounds.

Please help as the WAF is losing popularity faster than George Bush's Approval Ratings.

if this is just happening on DVDs then it means that the 5.1 soundtrack is not being downmixed to stereo . I'm not sure how to configure the cyberlink decoder to downmix to stereo, but if you switch to AC3filter as your audio decoder then it has it's own options page that will show up on the start menu or control panel where you can easily set all this up.

in that case check the config page of power dvd, make sure everything is set to 2 speakers and stereo downmix, and I guess check that windows sound manager default is 2 speakers too. Hopefully these settings might carry over to GBPVR???

ac3filter doesn't interact well with gbpvr for me. When i have cyberlink running as the video decoder and the dvd navigator, gbpvr hangs up.

I found out that the culprit is somehow my ac97 renderer???. I have realtek ac97. I have no idea what it is, but the environment that i set in there modifies the sound of my dvd. Now i'm trying to figure out the best settings on this program, because it just is not being cooperative.

ac97 is often the default driver for onboard (motherboard) sound cards. There might be a settings page to configure the three 3.5mm sockets to be either 5.1, or stereo-out/stereo-in/mic. You need to set it to stereo.

I did that and finally figured it out. Under Windows Media Player, I'm able to configure ac3filter as the dvd is playing so I can see the changes happen on the spot. Anyway of doing that with gbpvr?

not sure if this is what you are asking, but ac3filter has it's own config screen - either in the program menu, or in control panel. If you run your GBPVR in a window rather than full screen, you should be able to change the ac3filter properties and see the effect to GBPVR 'live'
