This might be a dumb question........so if it is - be kind.

I wil be reinstalling Windows SP1 on my GBPVR 97.9 system, its simply a reinstall with the currently installed drivers - the system runs well (replacing the primary hard drive).

Other than additional security is there any advantage to installing SP2 ??

SP2 is a requirement for .net 2.0, which is a requirement for recent, and future GB-PVR releases.

Stop right there. I run .net 2.0 on an SP1 perfectly fine.

It works, but is not supported. Why risk not having latest security patches and support?

That said, on my new setup I'm installing right now, I have installed SP2. Don't know why, though. "Just because", I guess Smile
