Hi to all who read this!!!!
I am new to this and I need your help to finish what I started. My fujitsu lifebook is fairly new (xmas 05) its 80gb 1.86 Ghz upgraded Ram from 512 to 1.25 gigs centrino process w/o the tuner option. I bought the wintv usb2 after reading for countless hours and downloaded and installed Gbpvr and everything is fine on the notebook, Then I wanted that function on my Tv with my direcTV d10 reciever so I ordered Mvp. I installed the MVP with GBPVR and I get the menu can browse my guide everthing but watch live tv w Gbpvr can you help me with this!!!!!. I have Ir blaster setup however I am more focused on getting the option of pause rew rec on my tv then I ll worry about the remote. My setup is the same as the posted dish net setup with the coax from the reciever to a splitter that has one coax to the wintv device and the other coax to my Tv. I have 3composite an s Video the norm for a HDtv so I jus need any kind of advice to get the tivo effect on TV thanks

I'm sorry, but this is a bit fuzzy to me, at least. Exactly what do you need help with? What's the issue?

I think GBPVR does not support your hardware because it does not have the mpeg2 hardware encoder. It will support WinTV PVR USB2 version.

That is correct. If indeed you have the WinTV USB2 and not the WinTV USB2 PVR device then you are out of luck. GBPVR only directly supports devices that have onboard MPEG2 encoders (i.e. the PVR designation). There is a plugin on the wiki that describes how to configure software encoding but to be honest, it's probably more trouble than it is worth considering the WinTV USB2 probably only cost you about $30.

Thanks everyone for the advice. To answer the first question as to what I need help with, is getting live tv I just get the black or blank screen. Secondly I do have the WIN TV PVR MCE USB 2. It must be a decoder or something small I missed because I know I have my setup correct or I wouldnt get the other features. Will the survival patch work on my laptop?
Thanks again bye

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed? You need to have one.

HI sub I tried and use intervideo because my system already has the intervideo player. I am confused with this because I have read where I need cyberlink and a. m p, where you choose the (just play option) or something. So I would say I have downloaded one I jus dont know how to Install. I really appreciate the help and I am sorry if I seem stupid with this its just I tried changing the decoder the config option and I get no change. What would be a good decoder?

I use MVP it works for the most part I dont have any trouble long but I did the whole stop of the media svc and the other one I forget the name and I am able like I said to get everything except live tv and playback or my recordings. radio doesnt matter to me so I havent tried that. I cant thank everyone enough for replying once again

Are we talking about you having two separate issues? Because when you are using the MVP, you don't need any decoder at all. Neither Cyberlink nor Intervideo. You would only need one if you are doing playback of recordings or live tv on your laptop.

Hi Stefan,
I only have one issue and that is getting rid of the black screen I see when selecting live tv on my TV screen. My notebook is fine evrything works perfect. Are you saying to get GBPVR on my TV I have to get rid of the decoder?
