Apparently it is installed by codec packs and by Gordian Knot, if you ever had that isnatlled, perhaops uninstall it.

hi thanks for the quick reply i have removed the mmswitch.dll from the system and it is not showing up in the log anymore. i dont know where it came from as i have never used the prog i was trying media portal over the weekend ( i know i should not mess with a working system) anyway it could have come from that. The problem though is still there, i have attached some more logs to see if here is anything else that could be the cause. the system still works it just comes up with an annoying error message. would reinstalling it be a good move or would this just compound my problems? again any light you could shead on this woul be great thanks. just found that it only does it when the tv is on live tv and not timeshifted could it be something to do with the pass through de interlacing ?

If can see two errors in these logs:

Quote:04/09/2006 18:20:56.093 ERROR [1] Unexpected error rendering panel: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at MusicPanel.MusicPanel.GetSize(XmlNode node)
at MusicPanel.MusicPanel.initialize()
at MusicPanel.MusicPanel.renderPanel()
at GBPVR.x86396f56243de9fb.render(Boolean& requiresMoreRendering)
This first one looks like some bug in the Music Panel plugin you have installed.

Quote:04/09/2006 18:21:02.734 ERROR [1] Error: msg=0x319 hwnd=0x50244 wparam=0x50244 lparam=0xd0000 result=0x0 : System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I'm not sure exactly what this one is.
