My updates are supposed to happen at about 3:00 a.m. They don't. Something goes wrong. See attached log. What bothers me some is that it works perfectly if I right click tray icon and choose "Update EPG"; then it runs my UPdateEPG.bat, which runs my grabber, and then it updates GBPVR's EPG... any ideas what to investigate? Smile

It looks like it did try to run the EPG update at a few minutes past 3AM. There were quite a few errors though:

Quote:2006-09-04 03:09:20.531 ERROR [8] Unabled to load XMLTV programme: Error occurred.

I think these relate to the date time format, or possibly the timezone string ("GMT" etc) if present.

The weird part is that it doesn't even run my grabber. It's like it doesn't do anything with my updateEPG.bat (or doesn't run it at all). Plus that it works when I right click and choose "update EPG". Does something different happen then compared to when the automatic update occurs?

It runs the same code, but it does run as a different user account, though this hasnt presented any problems that I'm aware of in the past. Can you attach one of your XMLTV file?

I tried the Update EPG from the tray icon again. I got the dreaded "socket error" again. I bet it's that LCD plugin. Must not have had the GUI running the other times I tried that. I'll disable the LCD plugin and see if that helps tonight Smile

Ok, that didn't help. With my newfound knowledge about the event viewer (kidding, i knew about it before, but I never remember looking there Wink ), I found that it says something to the effect of "TVGrabber.exe, directory not found: NIL"

Not sure what to do with that, since my updateEPG.bat works when running from the tray icon, but not when it's done automatically... Now that I come to think of it, I should obviously have attached my updateEPG.bat, but it's at home Sad

Do you do anything with mapped drives? These wont be found from the recording service, which runs as a different user.

No, I'm fairly sure I don't Smile I'll poke around some more tonight and see if I can find some more clues. Maybe post my updateEPG.bat.

Maybe TVGrabber.exe stores some of its path configuration info in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry key, which will not be present when running from a different user account, like the recording service is.
