First of all this is really amazing software. I can't imagine how much work went into it.

I just have a slight issue. I searched for threads relating to the OSD and video stutter that may occur and tried everything I could think of. Whenever I have something like the miniguide open, the video and audio has a stutter every 3 seconds or so on live tv.

I tried the quartz fix, changing to overlay mode, using the minize OSD mode and changing the codecs but I can't seem to get it work. When checking the cpu utilization when the stutters occur there are no spikes at all. Utilization is at a constant of 35% - 40%. I was wondering if there are any other suggestions I could try? Maybe its my machine specs:

Athlon XP 1800+
512MB of ram
PVR 150
FX5200

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have almost identical specs to yours and get stutter when the OSD is active too. Always put it down to my lack of grunt in the CPU/GFX card departments.

Yeah, it may end up being normal for that combination of CPU/GFX card.

All you're really going to be able to do is try different video renderers and video decoders, and to make sure you dont have any postprocessing filters like ffdshow installed. You could also try to make sure your video decoders are using hardware accelleration if that is possible with that GFX card.

Using the SQLite database option can also help, since loading the current show name from the database can sometimes cause a brief stutter on slow machines with MDB database.

Also defrag the drive, since it can slow down access to the database.

I also have the same problem. It happens when I accidentally touch the mouse. So I always move the mouse as far as possible and just use the remote control that came with Fusion HDTV card. My specs are very similar or worse than the OP.

Did anyone ever get a resolution for this?

I am experiencing a very similar issue. Difference is that the stutter I get when the OSD is active causes almost complete picture break up. I get the stutter also when the OSD is not active, but not nearly as bad. It stutters about every 5 to 10 seconds.

I have a P4 3GHz Prescott with 1GB of RAM, so I don't think it is lack of processor speed or memory. Interesting, it looks like everyone who has posted in this thread is running an NVIDIA card. I am running an NVidia MX4000 with TV-out (64MB).

I downloaded the latest unified drivers from the NVida web site last night and it has not fixed the issue. I have done the quartz.dll fix and played around with renderers and decoders and it really has not made any difference.

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
