Just upgraded to new version great job sub!!!! After messing with the new version for the better part of a day i decided to try the new sqlite database change utility.

However now my guide takes forever to load at startup (around 2 minutes) i was wondering if sub might have a patch for this or know of a fix. If you have no fix sub could you tell me how to downgrade back to access

As always i appreciate the help.

I'm not aware of any problem that could cause this. Infact, loading the guide has been faster for most people.

Zip and attach the logs and I'll see if I can see anything going wrong.

What EPG are you using, and with approximately how many channels and how many days of data?

I am using i-xmltv so that i can tell what episodes are premieres and which are reruns....I am using 14 days worth of data sooo i know it is quite a strain on it but in access it was still almost instantaneous...

I will zip a log when i get back home this evening.

I saw where people were having this problem before in the forum but it was with the last version here:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...erformance

Thanks again sub and i will get to you with the logs tonight.

There was a patch supplied later in that thread that addresses this v0.97 issue. This fix is built in to v0.98.8.

In config.xml example settings are listed for both Access and SQLite. Its just a matter of switch the settings to match the Access ones. You will lose any recordings you've done while using SQLite though.

It’s hard to know for sure without seeing your I-xmltv.log, but this could be a problem caused by ongoing Zap2It delivery problems. Zap2It appears to have limited their EPG downloads to 11 or 12 days max. Going above that number causes problems with incremental I-xmltv downloads.
If you post your I-xmltv log as well as your GBPVR logs. I’ll take a look to make sure the problem isn’t something I can help you with before sub takes over.

If you have less than 14-days in your guide, check out the “Note” section in post #155 in the I-xmltv thread.
Installing the update and limiting your EPG download to 11-days will probably fix the problem.

Thats interesting jim i didnt know that not having the data would slow the display of the guide on startup but your respone does make a lot of sense... I will try your suggestions tonight and if it doesnt help i will get you the logs then.

Thanks to both of you for your quick responses...Part of what makes gbpvr great.
