SQLite Performance problems?

So today I took the plunge and coverted to SQLite as the database engine. Went REALLY easy (good work).

There is one problem however that is forcing me to go back to ACCESS. Its whenever I change channels it takes a long time to switch the channel. Also the popup at the bottom (showing the channel and program title) only shows for less than a second. The show is also stutering during this time.

Any ideas on how to track this down?

Like I said, I'm sure its due to SQLite since converting back without changing anything else has resolved the problem. Also everything just seems to be faster.....

Could it be because I did not migrate the database from ACCESS to SQLite. I did a fresh install today and switched as the first thing before even configuring everything.

I doubt this is related to SQLite. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

There isnt typically any database access when you change channels.

I will once I get a chance to get back on the machine. The kids are watching Scooby Doo and there's no way I can bump them off Smile.

FWIW, this sounds like your video decoder settings were inadvertently changed. I'd suggest taking a peek at them just in case.

Not even to display the new channel show information? Is it all cached?

Here are the log files from this mornings reproduction of the problem. It does not seem to be possible to copy the ACCESS database to sqllite since the conversion fails near the end with a NULL reference problem.

I simply then converted to use the SQLite database and loaded the EPG data from the config application. Same problem results when trying to change channels. VERY slow (NO other changes were done in the config expect to add the three same capture devices).

What happens is:
I press the channel up key and it takes about a few seconds to think about it. Then it will change the channel. The popup at the bottum shows for only a second (if at all). All the time during this however video performance is poor.

Can you disable you MVP servers, then reproduce the problem, then repost the logs.

Also, make sure your deinterlacing is set to encoder pass-through.

Sure. Once I get a chance to test it out again.

Is there anything else other than what was in the prior zip file. You can have then entire directory if you want it Smile.

The specs on the PC are:

180GB HD (System + CDs)
300GB HD (Capture and Recordings)
300GB HD (Archive + Videos)

When you get a chance, please reproduce it with encoder pass through, and post the logs.
