How do a change the settings for the Recording Quality options (Medium,High,Custom1 etc.).

From searching the Fourm I see evidence that this is possible.

I am using the 'BDA Recording Plugin' which does not seem to offer the function to change the quality settings.
I notice that the 'Direct Recording Plugin' provides this feature - but I do not see how this relates to use of the 'BDA Recording Plugin'.

Confused?

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Richard.

I don't think you can with a BDA device? I thought gbvpr just saves the mpg stream produced by the multiplexer; hence the sampling rate can't be adjusted? As you said, analogue capturing (direct recording plugin) has this feature, though.
I'm not always right

This sounds plausible.
However, when I choose to record in Medium, High etc. then I do get a different bitrate in the output. So there is some level of control over the output.
Perhaps I should explore the config of my device (WinTV NOVA-T-Stick) to see what can be achieved here.
Still confused?

Just for my understanding - what is the direct recording plugin, and when would you use it?

Well, I could be wrong... I never experimented with it.

When using analogue capture cards Smile

Maybe I'm imagining things! I'll try again tonight in each of the quality settings to see what I get.

The quality settings do nothing for recordings with BDA devices, where the original stream delivered by the broadcaster is saved to disk. They decide the bitrate etc.
