The Plain Jane installation program was missing some files for the Weather and Theater plug-ins. An updated installation program is available in the wiki.

I just installed plain jane yesterday and found 2 problems, which the most recent update did not clear. The first is that on the Search Guide screen, the free text portion of the Search Text area at the bottom of the screen is unbelievably small, I'd guess a 7 or 8 pt font. I tried changing all the font sizes that are listed at the top in the skin.xml file under the Search folder in Plain Jane, but I couldn't get that font size to change. Where would that setting be?

The 2nd problem is, I believe, also font related. When I have a conflict and try to resolve it under the Recordings module, I get a black rectangle with no visible text. There are 2 white outlined areas that I can toggle between, like before where my choices were to cancel the conflict or leave it in place, but nothing's visible. I opened that skin.xml file and had no idea which font to try to change. There are a bunch. Can you point me to the right one?

Other than these, we so far really like Plain Jane. It's nice work! I'm especially fond of the panel items on the main screen. Thanks for any help you can provide.

The Search Text problem is new, I will look into it and get back to you.

The conflict popup is hard coded in GBPVR but it borrows the font definition from the skin. The font that is borrowed happens to be dark in Plain Jane. This is a bug in GBPVR, but low priority.

I will make another post to the wish list.

Thanks for the quick response. The search text isn't a deal breaker; I don't use it that much and can just sit really close to the TV when I do until a fix is resolved.

This one's pretty bad, though. I have only 1 tuner and get conflicts regularly. I don't mind editing text files. Can you tell me which font definition gbpvr is borrowing and maybe which xml file that resides in?

You have uncovered a new GBPVR bug. Apparently the text in the search entry box requires two TextStyles, "SelectedGeneralText" and "GeneralTextSelected". GBPVR uses the color specified in "SelectedGeneralText" but all the other attributes come from "GeneralTextSelected".

In the Search\skin.xml file, add the second text style, "GeneralTextSelected" with the same attributes as "SelectedGeneralText". This should fix the problem for you.

Skin modification:
Code:
[FONT="Courier New"]
[SIZE="2"]<TextStyle name="SelectedGeneralText" color="LawnGreen" typeFace="Arial" size="13" style="bold"/>
<TextStyle name="GeneralTextSelected" color="LawnGreen" typeFace="Arial" size="13" style="bold"/>[/SIZE][/FONT]

I'll take another look at the conflict popup problem.

Thanks, Old Dog! That did the trick on the search font size.
