I have and Ati 550 theatre pro tuner and the problem i'm having is when i record 3-4 shows back to back on the same channel, the sound is screwed up on the last one. it records the video fine but all i get for the sound is static, it does this no matter wat quality i record in. anyone know wat's wrong?

thanks

I had programmed 3 shows to record back-to-back. The first 2 shows recorded well but the last show the video was fine but the sound was screwed up...it was just noise. I also have an ATI 550. Unfortunately, I did not gather any debugging logs. Can you reproduce and post the logs for someone to look at?

I treat all cards exactly the same. If this is just happening with the ATI 550, then I'm guessing its just buggy driver issue. Is there newer drivers you can try?

I just doubled-checked and my current driver version is 6.14.10.175. The latest driver from ati 550 is 6.14.10.186 ... so I will load the latest and let you know as soon as I can.

Hi, I queued 4 shows back-to-back with the latest ATI 550 drivers (6.14.10.186) and all recorded shows had no audio distortion...all fine.

I just suffered the same problem on my ATI 550.

I had 2 shows recording back to back on the same channel, then a third one on a different channel. The 2nd show has static audio, but perfect video. This was on driver version 6.14.10.186.

I just checked and ATI released version 6.14.10.194 on 9/20/2006. I'm trying these drivers now, but I wanted to report the audio static issue with the .186 driver version.

I freakin' love GB-PVR!

Just wanted to bring this back up and report that the latest drivers from ATI did not solve the issue for me. This is still on the ATI 550

Again I had 2 shows set to record back to back on the same channel, followed by a 3rd show on a different channel. The 2nd show has perfect video but only static audio.

I haven't tried changing the pre and post padding minutes between shows - would this have any effect?

I have the same problem with an ATI 650. I've actually had it do the same thing when TimeShifting live TV as well.

Same problem... nothing but noise after 3-4 shows. I'm using the ATI 550 and the 6.14.10.194 drivers.

(And since I don't want my first post just to be a complaint I want to add that I really enjoy GB-PVR. Thanks!)

Sounds like common theme, all pointing at buggy ATI 550 drivers.

GB-PVR doesnt do anything specifically for sound - it's all supposed to happen automagically behind the scenes in the drivers. GB-PVR just tells the device to change to channel number x, and the drivers are supposed to do the rest.
