Hi folks,

I am bit newbie in the media center world...Rolleyes

I have just DL and succesfully installed GB-PVR.

Now I would like to install MediaMVP.
Unfortunetly the wireless version are not available in DK.

Is it possible to make a setup with Linksys Wireless G (WAP54G) and MVP so they together can make the installation wireless...?

Is it possible to make records wirelessly on my PC harddrive in another room?

I know this is rather stupid questions to most people in her, but i really would be thankfull if anyone would take time to help me...

From this you can see I dont want to make the needed cabeling, so any suggestion to solve my problem wireless problem is welcome... Smile

Thx in advance.

Mokuer:confused:

BTW: I tried a lot of software including MS MCE a GB-PVR is by the far the coolest i've seen...

I know others have used a WRT54G to make a "bridge" and hooked it up to the MVP. With that setup, the recording would take place on system located anywhere on your wireless network.

All the MVP does is give you access to whatever content you have on the "server" (the pc doing the recording). All media is then streamed to the MVP. The MVP physically does none of the recording/scheduling of TV, it is a mere interface to GB-PVR that will allow you to schedule recordings on the server and watch recordings from the server on your TV. It is literally another front end for GB-PVR so you don't have to have a pc hooked up to your tv.

Hopefully that isn't too confusing... Smile

Another option would be to try the Homeplug option, it's worked for some people :-

Great explanation...

But it leaves me a little frustrated.

I only have TV- n FM-signal by the TV.

Is there anyway in can get the TV signal wireless to another room?`

or can i buy a stand-alone box which can work together with the MVP?

You will need a TV tuner card on the PC where the recordings will be made and stored (the GBPVR Server).

To do this you will need to connect the TV tuner card to an aerial connection. You options are either to extend you existing aerial cabling or instal a new aerial (internal or external).
