it came out a while ago, but I figured that some people might find that interesting, since it truly supports being used in a HTPC application

I can't find any mention of HDCP, which by my understanding is not necessarily present just because a product supports the HDMI output standard. Even so it looks like a step in the right direction.

Whoops, OK found the HDCP spec in, funnily enough, the spec spreadsheet. Looks really nice.

I've been waiting on gfx cards until some of them actually support hdcp. Not too fussed by the hdmi (especially over here, sounds like hdtv with proper sound might be a while away).

Some of the radeon's are looking promising, the x1900 hdcp over dvi...should be interesting over the next couple of months...

i just want HDMI so i dont lose any quality and hopefully solve the overscan issue, currently im using component which is good, but not as good. i suppose DVI would do, but my reciever doesnt have any DVI inputs, it has hdmi inputs though.

I'm planning on having GBPVR going to an hdmi/dvi capable tv, then audio going direct to tv (stereo) and Coax/Optical to my receiver...

And since I don't plan on buying BlueRay or HD-DVD anytime until one of the other dies, I should only need one HDMI plug...

If I didn't have to care about HDCP I could save a heap of money

I was able to connect my Nvidia MX440 DVI output to my monitor's HDMI input using a DVI-HDMI cable. Might be an option for you too. I got the cable for $10 CDN

thats an option, but would love just to use the one cable, then i would only be using one hdmi input on my receiver for video + sound, and use my 2 optical inputs for my xbox and xbox 360.

ill give it a few more months, would like a card without any fans aswell Smile

I remember something about betamax and vhs.... dont hold your breath. espically since there is a patent on a disc that will support all 3 DVD formats, DVD, HD-DVD and BluRay. linkification

a nice receiver you have that supports HDMI Big Grin

I connect to my TV using VGA and that is very nice, 1:1 pixel mapping is wonderful
