I am one of the many people who have trouble with the OSD on the PVR 350 card. I have seen many threads on this subject and it all comes down to a driver problem. The main answer I see on the Forum is that Hauppauge is going to come out with a driver that resolves these problems.

Over the last couple of days I have been able to contact Hauppauge and they stated that they are completely unaware of any video out problems with any software being used with their card and have no plans to make any changes to video out in the next driver release or any other ones.

I am in no way complaining to the SUB (who is doing a unreal job on this project), just though that pvr 350 users should be aware of this. More important, people who are about purchase a pvr 350 card should know this. I hope I am way off but this is what Hauppauge stated to me in an e-mail today.

I suspect you're dead on. I've never said Hauppauge is working on a driver to resolve these issues. I have said "hopefully" new drivers will fix the problem in future. I've certainly not talked to Hauppauge about this problem, and I've never actually seen it on my machine so there is not very much I can tell them about it.

I was hopeful that the SageTV guys were talking to them about this, and we would be able to ride the coat tails of any new drivers that come out.

I believe your hopes may be shot down (mine too). Sage makes many references to the PVR 350 people like they are old friends but when you contact them nobody seems to know anything about Frey or problems with sagetv.  [Image: sad.gif]

BTW - It way on the sagetv forum that the driver issue is brough up. I had read threads that a new driver that has better support for OSD is on the way, ALL FALSE. Did not mean to say it was you.

I wish there was a way I could replicate the problem for you. If you have any ideas let me know....

I don't have problems with the pvr 350 OSD, it works fine. I'm using the driver from shspvr.com. I wonder if the people having trouble are using the driver from the Hauppauge website?

And SHS, if you are listening, whats the difference between your driver and Hauppauge? Do you have driver source and release your own version?

Dave,

I know you probably don't want to hear this but I have just acquired a PVR350 and installed it and it's working just fine.

I downloaded the latest drivers from the hauppauge website because the CD that came with it kept failing on the install. So downloaded the .inf files from http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/...18_inf.zip unzipped them and restarted. When XP hardware wizard redected my PVR350 I pointed it at the inf files I had downloaded. After getting the normal warning about unsigned drivers (and ignoring it) I then ran the driver update exe from http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/...22037.exe. Installed the gbpvr software and set it to use the pvr350 and everything's hunky dory both on the monitor and on the tv-out.

Let me know if you want any settings from the config file, any firmware versions etc..

Regards
PK

That is where I got my drivers. When you go to device manager what version driver does it have for your card? Any help you are willing to offer will be accepted, this is driving me crazy.

They seem to be a driver behind.
