I just installed GB-PVR (v0.18l).  When I try to watch live tv, I get the error message "Failed to Communicate with the GB-PVR Recording Service".  I checked the task manager, and GBPVRRecordingService.exe is running.  I tried restarting the recording service from the start menu, but that didn't help.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition with an Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-350.  I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Thanks in advance.

Actually, I just found the problem. I had set it up for Capture Device #2. When I changed it back to #1 it worked. Sorry.

I get this problem too but changing the capture device doesn't help.

Same set up but XP Pro.

Can anyone help please?

Hi olly.

Its most likely you set up something incorrectly in you're capture source. Check you've selected the right card type, make sure you've setup your EPG source etc. Visit all the 'Settings' buttons in your capture source.

If you dont work it out, zip and email your logs from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr to me at support@devnz.com and I'll tell you whats wrong.

I get the same message when trying to use the Radio Tuner. i have PVR-350 and LAME codec installed.

This isnt a major worry but id be grateful if anyone knew why it happened?

Zip and email your logs from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr to me at support@devnz.com.

If someone is willing to send me their logs, I'm sure we can work out what the problem is.
