I was watching an AVI file the other days that is 2hours long. However, I had to break up the viewing into several chunks - turning the MVP off between. As a result, each time I wanted to go back to it I has to set it playing again, pause it and then skip to the bit where I left off.

This got me thinking....

Could we have an option in the config to save the transcoded 'buffer' file into the same dir as the avi and rename it as appropriate (and maybe a secondary option to delete the avi) ? Next time, the watcher can pick the mpg file to watch instead.

I've built that into ZProcess. You start a AVI. It tells ZProcess to transcode, and keeps transcoding until the end... At the end it automatically backs up the transcoded MPG. If you need to stop and then later start again, ZProcess just restores the already transcoded file. And you won't have to wait for the transcode, and so you can punch in 45 and the >| on the remote and your already in 45 minutes...
