My OSD has stopped working. I don't remember exactly when it happened, so I don't remember what changed. I'm using the Cyberlink decoder, but have the EnableVMR registry settings. In fact, I have the .reg file from the following thread imported into my registry.

I'm using VMR9.

Any idea what caused it to stop working?

Zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Quote:22:00:45.218 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - Video Renderer 0007
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - MPEG Audio Decoder
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - Overlay Mixer2
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - CyberLink Video/SP Decoder

22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - Encoder
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - Capture
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - ATI AVStream Analog Xbar
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - TV Audio
22:00:45.218 VERBOSE - TV Tuner
I can confirm the Cyberlink decoder you're using is not currently able to connect to VMR, which causes it to fall back to using Overlay, and results in the missing OSD.

It usually fixed with the EnableVMR9=1 registry setting, but that doesnt work for all versions of the Cyberlink decoder.

Well I did recently upgrade the TV tuners drivers (Theater 550). But the decoder isn't included in those. As fas as I know the decoder has remained the same since I installed PowerCinema 3 (ATI's version).

I'm guess something you've done has either changed the version of the Cyberlink decoder, or restored its original registry settings. Either way, its pretty clear in the logs that the Cyberlink decoder is not compatible with VMR, which is the cause of your problem.

How would I have changed the decoder? The only thing I was aware it was included with was Powercinema and other retail ATI applications. Is it included in anything else?

I dont know what you changed, and dont really care (sorry - I've got more important things to worry about), but as I said above its clear from your logs this is the cause of your problem.

I'm asking what other things besides the retail ATI products the decoder is included in.

Yes, I understand the question, but I didnt want to waste my time researching it for you. Just fix it by switching decoder, or fixing the registry settings, or by installing a version of the Cyberlink decoders that is compatible with VMR9.

The Cyberlink decoders are licensed by lots of other companies for inclusion in their products.
