I have old movies on VCR tape that I would like to digitize and burn on DVDs. I would like to use my PVR500 capture card to get the vcr data into the computer.

Currently I have the analog coax signal connected to the PVR500. I would like to connect the RCA output from the VCR to the RCA inputs on the PVR500.

What do I need to do to GBPVR to get it to record from the RCA inputs?

Thanks.

create a capture source, set the source to be the composite input, no channel changer, not sure about EPG, and you will need to manually add a channel, call it whatever you want. this channel number is the channel you need to record from.
open GB-PVR, go to live TV, tune to that channel, hit record.

I have never done this, so I might have missed a step, but thats the basic idea, you need to make a capture source for the composite input from your VCR

Ted's correct; I've done it. Works fine. You will have to play around with the video source settings to sort out the #1, #2 inputs on the PVR-500.

IIRC, input #1 shares the RF coax & analog TV tuner while input #2 is the outboard connector. Don't quote me on that, you'll have to play around.

I'm also using S-video inputs and they map similarly.

So, if I have a set top box and two coax connections does that mean that I can record 3 programs at once or does one of the coax connection become unavailable?

well if its a PVR500, then you can record two at one time. you are limited to two mpeg encoders, however you feed them (coax or RCA).

When I select composite, external tuner I'm told that the drivers are not loaded for this device and asked if I still want to save the settings. I've been using my card for a year and a half now. What's it talking about?

No, if I select any of these options. I think that I'll try and make the 350 I have work. Could you point me to where I can configure my MS blaster?
