A Novice for starters, but trying to understand how to get this working. help would be much appreciated.

Got a Nova - T USB 2.0, and works ok with WinTV but the recordings are not reliable. Trying to get GB PVR to work....

So, conf capture source set to Nova T- BDA recording Plugin, EPG set to Bleb. Channels are mapped and the guid updating ok.

On Live TV, I get sound, no picture.

I have checked BDA Multiplexers using MuxCheck and it reports no multiplexers. But I have installed PowerDVD and a trial version of InterVideo DVD, yet still reporting no Multiplexer and no video in the Live TV. Tried to record and it creates a directory in the file name but does not create a file.

Help needed.....

How can i check i have multiplexers working?

How to get the video working?

Cheers,
Nick

This wont be the cause of your live tv problem, since a mux is only used for recording, but is probably the cause of your recording problem. Zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

A mux filter does not come with these products. Use the forum search, or read the sticky thread on BDA multiplexers.

Mux cheker will tell you which mux filters you have installed.

Its most likely related to your video decoder. Which one are you using?

Atteched the Log files.

I have looked at the decoders and had a play.

some success. nero video decoder now gives a picture, although it judders. sound used to be very good, but no judders too, on all settings, MPEG audio seems the best.

tried a manual record. directory created as before but still no file.

GBPVR version 0.98.8b

hardware Nova T USB

I guess you're running on Windows 2000 (which means you done even have the default Microsoft DVR-MS mux)? In summary, you have no mux filter installed, so it cant record.

This will be down to the combination of audio/video decoders and video renderer. Try some other combinations and I'm sure you'll find a combination that works well for you.

Many thanks so far....

So, how do I get MUX's?

On installation is says I need power DVD or InterVideo or CyberLink. So I have done that?!

How can I get an MUX?

The Cyberlink mux does not come with PowerDVD, which is just a DVD player - it has no need for a mux.. Remember Cyberlink make lots of different software products. Same goes for Intervideo. Same goes for ATI.

As I said above, use the forum search, or read the sticky thread on BDA multiplexers
