Apparently my system had an issue last night and the recording service must have failed a couple of times. The result is that I have 3 recording files for each show that was recording.

I can not view them via GBPVR becuase it only picks up the one file that happens to have about 30 seconds of a recording. The other two files represent the rest of the show.

Is there a utility or tool that will allow me to combine these three files into one single file?

I don't know about merging, but the standard video plugin allows you to select and play each of the files individually

You can try dos copy command:

copy file1 /B + file2 /B + file3 /B new_video_filename.mpg /B

If you understand what I mean. The /B flag is needed to tell copy that it should treat the files as binary and not ASCII. This shuld work I think.

Doing a simple dos copy will corrupt the timeline.

mpg joiner: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=CombiMovie

I've not tried it though: When this happens to me, I just do as garyeuph says and access my recordings folder via "videos" (or the rather super EWA)

You only need the flag once...

copy /b file1 + file2 + file3 new_video_filename.mpg

The resulting file plays quite well. There might be a timeline error, but I found nothing serious...
