Error when starting recording

I got this error when I tried to start a recording, it looks a bit like the error you get when you have certain anti-virus appl. installed. However I have Nod32 installed for a very long time (with ecxclusion) and never had this error. Since a few days I have the Microsoft hotfix installed aswell. I doubt if it's the same error:confused: . The translation of the error (1st line):
9/4/2006 3:02:39 PM.625 ERROR [5] Error starting recording: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. After I restarted the rec-service, I could start the recording.

Is you capture card still working sometimes, or never?

When I looked a bit better I saw that there were 3 errors (I tried starting 3 times) but they weren't exactly the same.

It works ok normally, this is the first time this happened and restarting rec-service cured the issue.

I'm not really sure. There is no obvious cause in the logs. It looks like it had a brown trousers error (shit itself) If its a one off, its probably not worth spending too much time investigating, but if it happens again we can take a closer look.

Ok, I'll wait and see, I might have to re-install XP anyway, getting too many unexplainable errors lately. Not too bad after almost a year with a lot off fooling around with it .
