Using the dvd2mpeg plug in.

I use VLC to play a disc, and vlc says the film is 1hour 26 minutes, and 23 seconds long.

If I DVD decrypt the film, DVD decrypt also says the film is the same length.

But when i play the mpeg 2 file created by dvd2mpeg, as needed for the MVP, then the file is only 51 minutes, 55 seconds long.

Had a quick look through the film, and I can not see any obvious bits missing, and the film is not obviously playing fast. If the time was real, it would be playing 68 % faster.

Any ideas , is this a feature ? Am I missing some scenes I just have not noticed yet ?

Any one else noticed this ?

Thanks Jeff

The link points to something about end codes in the movie. I seem to have the end of the films OK. ( I see credits ), just the wrong length reported.

Is this the same problem ?

Yes. The end of sequence codes do not effect players but they do effect mplex.

I have seen this problem with copy protection on some dvds (I actually had this last week trying to back up a disk). I used vobblanker to correct the structure and produce the mpeg. You may have to do the same.
