custom resolution and direct.ini

I would like to be able to change the resolution in the capture settings to other values. (See attachment)
After reading and searching the forums I found there are settings in the direct.ini

A) - in the sample below, what does the value 0 equal?

B) I quess I just want to be able to encode to resolutions between 740x480 and 480x480?

A) 0=720x480 for NTSC, or 720x576 for PAL

B) 740x480 is not a valid, but 1=480x480 or (480x576 PAL), 2=352x480, 3=320x240. No other resolutions are possible - these are the only options the hardware provides.

These resolution changes will only work on Hauppauge cards, otherwise you'll just get the default (720x480 for NTSC, or 720x576 for PAL)
