hi sub

since applying the dvb epg patch from the survival guide i've seen the recording service crash twice at abount the time a recording should end. there are no messages in the log files, but there is an entry in the event viewer:

logs from the relevant time period are attached.

i'm using a nova-t 909, and i've never seen this problem before i applied the patches (i looked back through the event viewer to make sure). since applying the patch some recordings have been successful both before and since the failed ones.

it doesn't look to me like there's a lot to go on here, is there anything i can do to get more information about the reason for the crash?

let me know if there's any other information i can provide.

cheers

Mine crashes too (with the DVB patch - and the same card) but mine was an access violation.

I've had to switch back to the older version in the meantime.

I've been running mine here for a couple of days trying to reproduce the problem, but have been unable to so far.

Does it crash at the start/end of the recording, or can it occur anywhere? I'm trying to narrow it down.

Mine would crash randomly. I.e. I was recording something and it would suddenly crash. I could restart the recording service and it would continue but then it may crash again.

I didn't seem to have any problems before the EPG patch, or with the older releases. I was using SQLLite but I shouldn't think that would make a difference.

I have spotted and fixed the likely cause of this problem, but unfortunately my build has moved on too far so I'm unable to provide a patch. The fix will be included in the next release.

Sounds promising. Do you have any idea when you will be releasing the next version? I'd also be happy to test it for you to see if it has fixed the problem.

I'm not really sure yet. I havent decided if it'll be a v0.98.14 or a v0.99.x release.

I have the same crash after the DVB-patch installed.
If i remove the patch, BG-pvr is recording perfectly.

tell me if you need another tester for this special problem?
