Local Volume vs Master Volume

Can you explain how local volume is supposed to work?

The end result is the same whether I have local and master selected - volume for other audio sources (windows system sounds, Winamp, WMP, VLC, etc) is changed as well. The only difference is that none of the sliders in my mixer app change with local volume.

I'm running v98.13 with the patch to fix the stuttering/hitching every second or two.

It depends on your setup. Local volume tends to be used with hauppage based cards / remote controlls and the MVP.

I have a PVR-500, no remote, I just use the keyboard. I guess I was just expecting it to lower the volume for the TV, not for everything.
