Hi,
I'd really appreciate some help with getting GB-PVR to work with a Hauppauge MVP that's either connected via Cross-Over Cable or (preferably) via Zyxel 85Mbps Homeplug Adapters.
Perservering with this project. Two steps forward and one step backward but determined to get GB-PVR to work
.
I've hooked up my MVP via Zyxel 85Mbps Homeplug (GB-PVR PC to Router, Router to Zyxel 85Mbps Homeplug No.1, Zyxel 85Mbps Homeplug No.2 connected to MVP) and can get a satisfactory connection established (i.e. MVP boots up reasonably reliably unlike whilst directly connected to GB-PVR PC via Cross-Over Cable) however....
Firstly my MVP Remote Control is interfering with my Teco LCD TV (pressing buttons on MVP Remote either changes volume, aspect ratio or settings of TV).
Secondly Video Playback (Recorded Video) is very jirky.
Thirdly the watching Live TV does not work (selecting this either causes my MVP to reboot or a message pops up saying that there are no tuners available for watching Live TV even though there is nothing recording and watching Live TV works alright on my GB-PVR PC).
....Probably a daft question but should GB-PVR just be launched on the host PC and left in the main menu whilst being controlled via MVP?.
As I don't want to hook up my GB-PVR PC directly to my TV (via MVP using a Cross-Over Cable) can anyone offer any suggestions as to why Video Playback is very jirky (at a guess data is being dropped or needs buffering).
I think that the use of two Zyxel 85Mbps Homeplugs isn't the cause of video playback being jirky as Hauppauge use 802.11g on their Wireless MVP (I'd bought the wired version many months prior to this version becoming available on the market).
Another thing I've noticed is that the MVP Server does not seem to start automatically upon starting GB-PVR (Window does not open minimized (perhaps it's not meant to do this?)). The number of MVP Servers to automatically start has been changed from '0' to '1'.
The router that I'm using is a Linksys WAG354G just in case there are any known issues with streaming video using this particular product.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you
