Hi all,
First of all I would like to say what a great program this is.

Ok, Now to my issues.
I'm in Melbourne Australia and I have a Dvico Fusion Pro tuner card.
I have installed the drivers and software for the card.
In the dvico signal tester I get 80/90% signal strength.
and I can get the fusionTV software to scan for channels and it picked up each channel fine and I can watch them.

In the config program for GB-PVR I have set up the capture source for the card, When I go to map the channels to the EPG, It goes through the scan for the channels and find them, However when I click on the channel to get a preview, in that small window I get no video, except for channel 9 in fact all the channel 9's work (guide, HD, and normal digital)

When I map them and go into GB-PVR and click Live TV only channel 9 with be watchable, the rest of them give me an error about the cable not plugged in and to check the cable. It also displays that there is no quality and full strength. I read that it could be some other program accessing the tuner and interfering with GB-PVR. I have disabled auto-run on the two Dvico apps that run on startup, but the same results happens.

Also,
With my Dvico card you get a Dvico Fusion MCE remote, the remote receiver has a "mini-jack' which plugs into another cable which plugs into the card it self, I was wandering if any one has had any problems getting this to work?
I ran the remote config app for Dvico and chose the correct card, But the only options for where the remote receiver is plugged into is coms 1,2,3 and 4 or USB.
I know this should go to dvico themself, but there is not much help in there support section, and I figured some brainiak here should have come across this issue before and give me a little help.

Thanks in advance

card as your I know but at least it is the same manufacturerSmile

  1. if you can't tune the channel in config, you do not have a chance in hell of waching it in live tv mode or recording it or anything else.
  2. the software that comes with your card is not using the BDA drivers like GB-PVR is. My experience tells me the BDA drivers are far more sensative to poor signal quality, how high the sun is ectect, why i do not know.
  3. the signal strength interface on the bda driver is unreliable, actually I am not convinced they don't just use a random number generator, so GBPVR has no chance in returning anything that resembles what the ss is.
  4. given you can see ch9, I don't see how you can be getting interference from another application. it is an all or nothing, the app has access to the card or it doesn't, so this is not your problem.

I'd be betting your signal strength is not good enough.

all my channels >= 92% signal strength measured using the dvico tool. I found when I had signal strength < 90% life became more interesting.

what signal strength do you get for channel 9 vs the other channels, is ch9 your highest s/s?

Makesure the frequencies being scanned are indeed the frequencies you are using in the dvico tool, just incase for some crazy reason GBPVR is not scanning the correct frequencies, I found this problem to be one of mine in the early days.

good luck

Thanks for that,
I'll check out the frequencies in both fustionHDTV app and the config program for gb-PVR.

I just found it strange that it picks up ch9 without issues and yet every other channel is a no go. I didn't think the minimum signal strength varied on different channels.
I'll go back and check the strength between the different channels,
I may have to check it in a couple of days, As I need to replace my transceiver cord and I think they will have to take the whole box back to get replaced, I'll let you know once I get the stuff back

I had trouble with picking up one channel when I was trying to map digital channels it and I would rerun it and it would usually show up. I recently moved my antenna outside and almost all my channels are at 100% and I do not have trouble with finding the one channel now. With the digital channels you have to have signal stength. If you can move your antenna outside your strength will improve quite a bit.

Thanks for every ones reply.
I was able to pick up and watch all the digital channels through MCE
No offence to the creator of gb-pvr, but does MCE have better support the dvico boards or should there be no difference between gb-pvr and mce in regards to using a divco board or digital channels?
I would rather use gb-pvr if I could get the digital channels to play nice.
I was able to resolve the remote problem, It seems it didn't like my motherboard, I put it into another PC and it worked great, I can now turn the machine off and on with the remote.

Its probably worth trying the patch from: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=3. It might help.

Probably. I'm guessing they've at least tested them. I've never even seen a dvico board.

I have been able to get the channels to work.
I used a program called channelscan or scanchannel.
Its a dos program which scans the airways for channel frequencies and reports them into as text file.
I than edited the cache~1.dat file(I hope thats what it is called)
and changed the frequesies to match what channelscan reported.
and hey resto it picked up the channels fine.

Yay
