I am wondering if anybody else has this issue where their PC is unable to power-saving standby or hibernate if the GBPVR Recording Service is running?
Even if no recordinggs are scheduled and GBPVR is not used the recording service prevents the machine from entering standby. Once stopped however the machine enters standy after the desired peiod as expected.

Machine in question is XP SP2 with a Hauppauge Nova-T DVB card.

The above was found out to be bollocks in the end.

Good tip if your machine fails to enter standby consistently ...

There was an unknown device appearing in Hardware -> Device Manager.
Installing the drives for this device corrected the problem.

Machine consistently enters standby and wakes up on demand Smile

So is mine.

In a recent thread Dfdario recommended this Media Center Standby program. Since installing it my machine has gone into and out of hibernation faultlessly. It still throws up IR hardware errors on waking from standby, but hibernation is now solid. It's brought new life to GB-PVR and my system now rocks. Even the wife is impressed Big Grin The recording service has never been a problem.
