First of all: GBPVR is a great Job!

I will try not to make too many words. I guess the developers do not have too much time to read smalltalk.

Here is my wishlist (maybe some are already posted before. but I hope it may be useful)

- Do not delete the settings after deinstallation of GBPVR. Would make updates easier. Channel Settings should be saved anyway. Don't want to loose Weather location after update...etc...

-Add Scrollbars to the EPG Information in the TV Guide. It does not fit to the screen in many cases.

-Let the user decide when the EPG Update will be done. Not between 3:00 and 4:00 in the Morning.

-Make it possible to display EPG Infos on the screen while watching.

-A channel Search would be great... Today I must use another TV-Software to browse the channels

-A short description of all possible Keys to press. If possible OSD...

-A newsletter for the users (That's me!Wink. I would like to be informed when there is something new.

At last: Do You keep track of all the wishes? Do You have some kind of official Wishlist?
If You do NOT have it: I would offer to create one with a simple interface, so that Your moderators can simplay keep it up to date without double entries...
email me...

Thanx 4 everything.

Because of the way I decided to do things in the early days, I made it difficult to retain settings between release. Hind sight is 20/20 and all that. I have been working on this in this release. I have all the settings that contained in the config.xml being properly retained. I've not yet decided on an approach to retaining the show listings and recordings which are contained in an access database - I'm still thinking about this one.

huh? I use no windows controls. Everything needs to be able to be controlled with a keyboard or remote control. I'm not adding scroll bars. If you're using a mouse and need to scroll down, you can use the wheel on a wheel mouse. Otherwise, just use the up or down keys.

Yes, this would have been nice. I did experiment with this recently, but found the MVP way to slow while it is playing video. You can bring up a list of whats currently playing (mini-guide) using the green key on your remote (ctrl-G key).

All announcements are made here on the forums. I dont want to spam people, so it would have to be opt-in. When I have some spare time I may look for software that already exists that will integrate easily with the website.

I just use this forums to track the wishes. So no, I dont have a single official list. I dont have moderators - just me, so I dont want to spend too much time maintaining this sort of thing. If you want to write one, we could add it to the site (assuming PHP). Whilst you're at it, I wouldn't mind a set of web pages for users to enter bug reports. [Image: biggrin.gif]

hi sub,

i am surprised and happy that the developer himself answers this quick! Thanx 4 that!

with channel search I mean: your channel-list is built by the EPG Source. But the channel-numbers are rubbish!
a scan would bring You a list of the real existing channels.

scrollbars: oh, I did not know that it is possible to scroll with the RC...

another wish I forgot: it would be nice to have a mix of antenna and cable channels. (my VCR brings antenna-channel, and i actually copy all my tapes to PC)

Another question:
when I change the channels quite often, my computer will hang and will not wake up. is this a bug,or my own hardware?

Bug- and Wishlist:
I will create some simple PHP-scripts. If You like them, I will make some nice ones.
If You like I could also moderate it. As I have my own programming-Project, I know, reading and classifying takes much time.

GB-PVR was written by me here in New Zealand, so all development was done on PAL.

You may be getting some cropping due to overscan of your TV hiding parts of the image. This seems to vary with video card and/or television. I'm hoping to provide some overscan compensation in GB-PVR soon. Its already in place for MVP, XCard and PVR350, but still needs to be implemented for PC playback via VMR/Overlay.

You would be able to add two capture sources both referring to the same card, one set up for antenna, one for cable.

For New Zealand, UK, USA the channels should appear in the correct places. These countries list the channel numbers in their XMLTV files (or also zap2it for USA). I may implement some form of manual channel tuning in future, but its not high on my priority.

Currently you can adjust the PVR350 settings in the config.xml file.
