I just got a wMVP and am installing GBPVR for the first time on a new computer (I had a computer-only gbpvr in the past).

I got the software installed and the MVP server running...and I can surf through the GBPVR menus on the wMVP...but if a "Play" anything (an mp3, an avi, etc...) it doesn't work. mp3s do nothing at all. Videos make the screen go black.

Mp3 and video plays fine looking at the gbpvr through the computer.

I feel like I have missed something obvious.

Thanks

What software did you install? My wMVP works out of the box with GBPVR (no need to install the Hauppague stuff), just determine how many servers you would like GBPVR to run in the MVP tab of the config app

Hi Elite,
I have been using GBPVR for a long time and I just built a new server. I followed my normal steps and did everything I knew to be correct. I installed the Cyberlink DVD drivers from the CD, I installed a codec pack. If I fire up the GBPVR pc client everything works. It's when I try and do anything from my MVP I have the same problem as you.

Sub or anyone out there have any idea's? I even downloaded a new version of ffmpeg, etc. I have been jacking with this for 3 or 4 days now with no luck. Here is what is in the log.

All the other logs don't give any warnings, errors or anything like that. I ran the BDA Mux Checker and it tells me I don't have anything installed. Perhaps I am retarded or forgetting a step from so long ago when I setup my previous servers but what should I do?

This is a AMD x2 4600+ 2gb pc3200 running Windows 2003 Standard. I have installed everything I have at my arsenol. Googling for a muxer isn't helping either. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help and time.

I'm not a power GBPVR user but I've experienced my working system instantly go bad (totally or partially) with something as innocent as a change of ffmpeg versions.

One thing I can say with my limited experience over the last six months using GBPVR, it's best to stick to the basic GBPVR install defaults and get that working before attempting to alter anything. Anything! That includes adding plugins, custom skins and changing imbedded helper applications such as ffmpeg.

Reproduce your problem, then zip adn attach the logs and I'll take a look.

You can most likely ignore those missing CyberLink MPEG Muxer. This is only used if you're using a DVB/ATSC digital capture device.

Thanks for taking a look at this sub. Someone mentioned an innocent install of ffmpeg breaking this...so if it's a hint I should mention that I have no idea what ffmpeg is but it is familiar sounding. I have tried a couple of different methods over the last couple of days for ripping DVD vobs from my harddrive into mpg or avi for play over the Hauppauge, so I certainly have install some related things that I don't necessarily understand.

Thanks

Only one of the two connections from the MVP is received. This means either:

a) you've left one of the Hauppauge MVP services running
b) or, you've got a firewall getting in the way

Thanks for your time.

It may have been rebooting with them both disabled, but with the mention of ffmpeg (and me noticing a couple of different such files with newer dates than the one in \gbpvr) I reinstalled gbpvr and rebooted and it started working.

The only problem I have now is though that the picture quality is really bad. (Big compression blocks, and I think there's a good amount of picture not on the screen. [The same files play fine from the hauppauge player.]) I feel like this is a dumb question, but could ffmpeg have anything to do with that? And is what is under "Playback" applicable to what plays over the MVP, or are those settings just for playback on the computer/over a local video card?

Thanks.
