the webadmin has the functionality to eighther download the complete file or transcode and stream on the fly using VLC.

The best settings is a one million dollar question i looked at it this way:

what bandwith have you got? use about 70% of this otherwise you will likely see hickups. If you own a router with QOS implemented give thestream high priority.

what are the specs of the server machine? they determine which codec to use. h264 is the best but needs a really high end server to transcode. mp4 does a good job too and will work on any modern pc. the others are less good in my experience.

alternatively you can transcode in postprocessing.bat to any format which fits yr available bandwith and play whilst downloading wit VLC.

Connection: 3 mbit down, 768kb up.

Server: Look in my sig for the sepcs.

What do you think I should do? Whenever I try to play it, it doesn't stream. It streams the first second or two and then it stops.

Thanks

Is there a way I can crank up the bitrate. THe dropdown has only up to 512 i was wondering if I could increase it to 768. Is this possible?

I have a desktop at a remote location broadcasting video using VLC. At the client location I can stream and view the video using VLC, but how can I view that using GBPVR? Is there a plug-in?

Your question has me a little confused....are you using EWA to do the streaming or are you just using native VLC outside of EWA?

Actually, I'm using AV broadcaster and VLC to do the broadcasting on the server side, and just VLC on the client side to stream it.
I would love to integrate this with GBPVR, but don't know if there are any plugins out there. The other thing i'm looking for, which would be next, is to change channels remotely.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Stefan. I'm sure the answer was out there, but I'm new to the HTPC world and the hardest part is to figure out what to search for.
