I haven't had a tuner in my dev system for over a year but have been able to use it for plugin development anyway.
I recently tried a WinTV-HVR 950 in my dev system to see if the antenna on top of our condo building gets OTA HD channels. I didn't get any digital channels so I uninstalled the HVR 950 and ran HWCLEAR.EXE to get rid of some stuff it left behind in the system tray. I guess the HWCLEAR also removed some drivers that the PVR-150 had left behind during its brief stay in my dev system and now I can't add any capture devices in gbpvr's config as it complains about drivers not being present.
Is there any way I can use the analog side of the WinTV-HVR 950 in gbpvr? Is there a way to setup a "fake" tuner in config.exe so I can associate an EPG to it and use my dev system for plugin development? Does anybody have an old tuner they never plan to use they want to get rid of?
I just got laid off so "go buy a xyz" is not a good suggestion as far as WAF (minister of finance) goes. I'll probably return the HVR 950 if I can't use it in my gbpvr dev system since the analog picture quality is much worse than with my PVR-150's.
